3G history was started in Japan in 2001 by NTT DoCoMo. The technology used at the time was W-CDMA. In 2003, the company prepared 3.5G origin namely wireless service that assured 40 times speed above 3G. The main difference betwen 0G-3.5G is basically the data transfer speed and system. 0G uses Push To Talk, MTS,IMTS and AMTS 1G (AMPS/NMT/DECT) is still in analog from and uses a circuit switch. 2G (GSM/CDMA) has been digitalized, however is still uses 14.4 Kbps circuit switch. 2.5G (GPRS/CDMA 2000-1x) has been digitalized and using 115/307 Kbps circuit-packet switch. 3G (WCDMA/CDMA EVDO/DV) is in digital from and using a full-packet circuit switch (200-2400/3090 Kbps). While 3.5G uses HSDPA based from W-CDMA or Wideband code division multiple acces tecnology. The difference is that HSDPA is faster compared to 3G as it uses more efficient code technology.
