Bromo A very famous beautiful mountain in east java, which has the most beautiful sun rises panorama on its peak. Bromo be a hot spot for the tourism who come to east java.
Behind these beautifulness there was a sad story about this place. A legend which happen during the reign of the last king of the Majapahit Kingdom. When A princess from the kingdom forced to leave the kingdom after she got married with a man from a priest caste. They settled in the area of Bromo. They named it the area as "Tengger" the combination of the princess and the priest name, Roro Anteng and Joko Seger.
They live happily together. But for years later the happiness change to unhappiness because they didn't have child. Then they decided to climbed the peak of the mountain and prayed to the gods of mount Bromo whose called BATARA BROMO. Then The Batara Bromo promised them with many children with one conditions, they have to sacrifice the youngest one. They Agreed.
Many years later they got 25 children. The most loved was the young one. Remember with their agreement with the Batara Bromo that they have to sacrifice the loved one, they hid the child and broke the agreement.
Batara Bromo got angry then disaster occur. A big eruptions happen and the child fell into the crater. But before he's gone, they heard his voice, asked them to give sacrificed every year so that they will all stay alive.
So from now on, they people around the area held the offering ceremony every years in memoriam of the youngest child of Roro Anteng and Joko Seger. They ceremony called Kesodo because occur in 14 th Kesodo.
