Air is  interesting as a word in which have different meanings from different source.  Air is one of the five elements in ancient and medieval philosophy and in astrology (Air, Earth, Fire, Water and Metal).   Air  as the invisible gaseous substance surrounding the earth, a mixture mainly of Oxygen and Nitrogen. Air as open space above the surface of the earth, and also  air is the earth's atsmosphere as medium for transmitting radio waves.

As idiom, airs and graces means an affectations of superiority, in the air means famous, popular, noticeable all around, take the air means go out of doors, walk on air means feel elated.

Airdrop, an act of dropping supplies, troops or equipment by parachute,
Air-freshener, a scented substance or  device for masking unpleasant odours in a room,
